Some Albemarle County students are getting a jump-start on their career planning.
Seventh-graders from across Central Virginia gathered Tuesday morning at the John Paul Jones Arena for a career fair.
Dozens of businesses gave kids an idea of what careers are available.
The school system does this at an early age to help kids plan for high school and beyond.
"It gives the 7th graders an opportunity to learn more about what careers are out there," says Chad Ratliff, with Albemarle Co. public schools. "It gives businesses an opportunity to get involved in the schools and engaged with kids and it's a great event all around."
Nearly 2,000 students from the Charlottesville area took part in the career fair.
