Defibrillator Donated to Fluvanna High School

March 27, 2013

A financial gift is boosting the life-saving capability of Fluvanna County High School.

The Fluvanna County Rotary Club presented the school's athletic department with a check Wednesday morning to purchase a new defibrillator.

The department said they were grateful for the check, because the budget cuts did not allot for the purchase of the device.

"Our budget is so minimal right now, especially for supplies like this," said athletic director Sarah Miles. "This is something that will probably help safe a life at some point in the future."

Rotary Club members said they raised more than $1,600 to pay for the device by fundraising outside local grocery stores.
