Moms Get Special Treat with Mother's Day Music Fest

May 11, 2013

Local moms received a special present one day before their special day.

The annual Mother's Day Music Festival at Tandem Friends School is a day of music, art, food and fun.

Sixteen local musicians, artisans and dancers -- including some Tandem students past and present -- all showed off their best.

The event has been taking place since the late 1980s.

Head of School Andy Jones-Wilkins shared what his favorite part of the day was.

"Aside from the food?" he said, laughing. "Food's the favorite part. But otherwise, the music, both the student music, the professional music. The general vibe and atmosphere. We have alums that come back."

The annual tradition is completely organized by students at the school.
