A Charlottesville elementary school is receiving a grant to help inspire students to be more active and make healthy choices.
Venable Elementary is one of 59 schools across the U.S. receiving money from ING’s Run for Something Better Program.
The school will received $1,000 right now, and up to $2,500, based on participation in an 8-week running program, culminating in an event to celebrate the students' achievements.
Grant awards were available in all states and the District of Columbia to elementary or middle schools for running programs that targeted kindergarten- through eighth-grade students.
