HENRICO, Va. (AP) - One child care worker in Henrico County is heading to jail and another is free.
Media outlets report that a judge dismissed a misdemeanor child neglect charge against 34-year-old Niesha Cannon.
But Henrico County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Judge Denis Soden found 20-year-old Keona Camper in contempt.
Soden ruled Friday that Cannon complied with his earlier order to perform community service, write a report and an apology, and interview people associated with child care and trauma. But Camper didn't.
Camper received a one-year sentence on the neglect charge with all but two months suspended. She also must serve 10 days for contempt. She must report to jail Nov. 14.
Prosecutors said the women left a 3-year-old boy at a park during an outing in June 2011.
