August 25, 2010

Police in Newport News are looking for the owners of more than $100,000 in stolen goods and cash.

Jewelry, rare coins, guns, ammunition and safes were among the items discovered by detectives during a traffic stop.

Detectives believe 27-year-old James Stephen Massengill of Hayes was selling the stolen goods. They had him under surveillance when he was pulled over Friday. They believe the goods were taken during area burglaries.

Massengill faces charges of buying or receiving stolen goods along with firearm, drug and marijuana possession.
