Swimming Advisory in Effect for Va. Beach Due to Bacteria Levels

September 13, 2010

A swimming advisory remains in effect for Huntington Beach after tests showed high levels of bacteria.

The Peninsula Health District issued the advisory Friday. Water testing will continue this week and the advisory will be lifted when the bacteria levels fall to safe levels.

Health officials say swimming or playing in water with unsafe levels of bacteria increases the risk of gastrointestinal illness.
