Study Ranks Virginia Third for Gun Trafficking

September 23, 2010

A study released by "Mayors Against Illegal Guns" shows a correlation between states with strict gun enforcement laws and low rates of gun trafficking.

Here in Virginia, the state ranks as the third highest in terms of interstate gun suppliers in crimes.

The study also reveals that in states with comparatively weaker gun laws, higher rates of illegal gun usage exist. As a result, Virginia is ranked as one of the top states for gun trafficking over the last three years.

Virginia's number three ranking in gun trafficking represents a drop, although not significantly. They were ranked as the second state for the three years prior.
