Six Va. Tech Students Injured In Van Accident

October 3, 2010

The Montgomery County Sheriff says six Virginia Tech students have been injured in a single-vehicle accident.

Sheriff Tommy Whitt told the Roanoke Times the students were
trapped in a van that went over an embankment and landed upside
down Saturday afternoon. Whitt says the van ran onto the right
shoulder of Craigs Creek Road and rolled when the driver
over-corrected.

Whitt says five of the students were flown to Carilion Roanoke
Memorial Hospital and one was taken to Montgomery Regional
Hospital.

Conditions and the names of the victims were not immediately
available Sunday.
