Eleven people face charges of selling thousands of counterfeit CDs following a raid that targeted nine vendors at the Bellwood Flea Market in Chesterfield.
Chesterfield County police Capt. Hal Moser told the Richmond Times-Dispatch that the majority of CDs seized during the recent raid were pirated recordings of Latino music.
Moser says police conducted an undercover operation at the flea market after the Recording Industry Association of America's Northeast Region contacted local authorities. The flea market's operators weren't involved in the illegal activity.
Six men, three women and two teenagers were charged with trademark infringement. Three are illegal immigrants who were turned over to immigration authorities.
