Police say a 6-year-old Gloucester girl found malnourished in a makeshift cage is out of the hospital.
The Gloucester Sheriff's Office tells media outlets that the girl is now in the state's custody. She has been placed with a family outside of the area.
The child's parents, Brian and Shannon Gore, are scheduled to stand trial in December on first-degree murder and other charges.
Deputies serving a search warrant stemming from a burglary
investigation in April found the girl in a makeshift cage in the family's residence. A month-old boy was found unharmed.
The next day, deputies discovered a child's remains while digging around a shed at the residence.
