RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Gov.-elect Terry McAuliffe is asking Virginians to spend a day helping their communities.
McAuliffe's inaugural events include a day of service on January 4. The inauguration website, Inauguration2014.com, lists opportunities across Virginia that are searchable by ZIP code.
McAuliffe tells the Richmond Times-Dispatch that he's trying to convey the theme of common good.
McAuliffe, Lt. Gov.-elect Ralph S. Northam and Attorney General-elect Mark R. Herring will take the oath of office on January 11.
