Two men have been convicted on charges related to the carjacking of a Sears delivery truck in Hampton.
A federal jury in Newport News on Friday convicted Antonio D. McGhee of Essex, Md. and Gabriel D. Mitchell of Norfolk on charges of conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery, carjacking, and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence.
They face up to 20 years in prison on the conspiracy and robbery charges, 15 years on the carjacking charge and at least seven years on the firearm conviction. Sentencing is set for Oct. 30.
Federal prosecutors say the truck was carjacked while appliances were being delivered. The suspects had been given information about the truck's possessions and delivery schedule. The suspects used a rental truck to load the appliances, which were recovered.
