CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (AP) - Three people are dead after two shootings in southwestern Virginia that police say are related.
The Roanoke Times reports that the first shooting occurred Friday evening at a home in Christiansburg. Police Maj. Dalton Reid says officers found a 36-year-old man shot to death, but no suspect at the scene. He says police had reason to believe the suspect was headed to Pulaski.
Less than an hour later, Pulaski police received a call about gunshots being fired. Police say they found two people dead, and one of the victims was involved in the earlier shooting in Christiansburg.
Identities of the three victims were being withheld until family members could be notified.
Police in both jurisdictions say no suspects are being sought, but the investigation is continuing.
