Craig County authorities say 32 people are facing charges stemming from a major drug-trafficking sweep in Virginia's second-least-populated county.
The Roanoke Times reports that officials with the New River Regional Drug Task Force announced the indictments and arrests Wednesday. The charges include 58 felonies and eight misdemeanors, ranging from second-degree murder to the sale of marijuana and the distribution of heroin.
All but one of those indicted were residents of Craig County at the time of the alleged offenses. That county has a population of 5,000.
Officials say 32-year-old Jessica Rock of New Castle was charged with second-degree homicide for "not rendering medical assistance" after her friend 40-year-old Lisa Deel fatally overdosed on heroin and alcohol.
