Human Remains Discovered by Va. Tree Trimmers

Roanoke police say a tree trimming crew has discovered human remains in a residential neighborhood.

The body parts turned up Monday and police say the state medical examiner confirmed they were human Wednesday.

Police spokeswoman Aisha Johnson says the next step is to determine the gender and identity of the remains. They were found in a wooded neighborhood in northeast Roanoke.
