Water Main Break Impacts Northern Va. Commute

April 6, 2010

A water main break in Tysons Corner is complicating the morning commute for some northern Virginia drivers.

Officials say a contractor working on the Capital Beltway's high occupancy toll lanes project struck the 20-inch main on Route 123 near International Drive early Tuesday.

Southbound Route 123 has reopened, but the northbound lanes in that area will stay closed for much of the day.

Utility officials say repairs are expected to take at least eight hours. Nearby residents can expect low water pressure during that time.
