The public can learn about the safety performance of Dominion's Surry nuclear power plant during an open house on April 13.
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission scheduled the meeting to provide information about its annual review of the plant's safety performance. The review found that the plant operated safely in 2009.
Local officials and the public also will be given information about the agency's oversight of the plant.
The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Surry Government Center in Surry.
