Man Who Took Photos of Sleeping Va. Girl Charged

April 9, 2010

A Virginia man has been charged with a felony for allegedly photographing a teenager with her underwear exposed while she slept in her mother's car.

A Fredericksburg police spokeswoman said Thursday the suspect was arrested three weeks after the March 19 incident because the girl managed to take down the tag number as he drove from the shopping mall parking lot.

Police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said Olaide Berragan-Aviles of Manassas was charged Wednesday with unlawfully photographing an unconsenting person. She said the offense is a felony because of the girl's age. She is 14.

Bledsoe did not know if Berragan-Aviles has an attorney and a phone number under that name could not be found.
