ESPN2 Bass Competition Returns to Smith Mountain Lake

April 15, 2010

One-hundred professional fishermen will be tossing lures into Smith Mountain Lake for the Bassmaster Elite Series.

The competition begins Thursday and continues through the weekend. Dubbed the Blue Ridge Brawl, the competition will be shown on a delayed basis on ESPN2.

This is the tournament's third visit to Smith Mountain Lake. The 2007 and 2009 editions drew large crowds and brought tourism dollars to Bedford and Franklin counties.

Weigh-ins will be at Parkway Marina in Huddleston. The first-place prize is $100,000.
