Authorities say a former CIA station chief charged with sexually assaulting an unconscious Algerian woman has been arrested in Norfolk.
Norfolk police say federal agents assisted in Monday's arrest of 42-year-old Andrew Marvin Warren at a motel in the city. Police say Warren was taken into custody without incident, although they did recover a handgun.
A District of Columbia grand jury indicted Warren, who lives in Norfolk, on one count of sexual deviance last year. The federal prosecutor's office in D.C. says Warren failed to appear at a hearing last week, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
One of Warren's attorneys, Billy Martin, said he and his co-counsel look forward to speaking with Warren and are glad he's safe. He declined further comment.
