A Virginia man is dead after being hit in with a softball.
Loudon Fire and Rescue Spokesman Mary Maguire says officials responded to a call around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday about a man struck by a ball at the Potomac Lakes Sportsplex. He was having trouble breathing after being hit in the face or neck area, she said. The man, Loudon County resident George Crisp, later died.
A spokeswoman for the Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services says Crisp was participating in a men's softball tournament.
