The first weekend in June has been declared free fishing days in Virginia.
Virginia Marine Resources Commission head Steve G. Bowman says state licenses won't be required June 4 through June 6 for recreational fishing in saltwaters and freshwaters, except in designated trout waters.
But fishing regulations will remain in effect.
Bowman says the weekend will be a good opportunity to discover the joy of fishing and boating.
