Car Crashes into Va. House; Three injured

May 10, 2010

Hampton police say an adult woman and two children are recovering after the car they were in crashed into a house.

Authorities say the woman lost control of the Honda Accord she was driving on Saturday morning, veered off the road, struck a ditch and flew over a 6-foot privacy fence. The car struck a two-story home and trapped the woman and children inside the car and started a fire.

The passengers, including a 4-year-old and 1-year-old, all had minor injuries. The owner of the house was home at the time of the crash, but was not injured. Firefighters extinguished the blaze.

Police are investigating what led to the incident, and charges are pending against the driver.
