The Memorial Day holiday weekend is a big time for travel.
For anyone planning a vacation or even a day trip to explore Virginia's natural beauty, there's a new online tool.
VirginiaOutdoors.com gives visitors a virtual tour of every state park across the Old Dominion. The idea is to make it a one-stop shop for any kind of information tourists might need before hitting the road, from maps to activities.
It's getting rave reviews from outdoor enthusiasts.
"I thought it was cool. It's a great resource to kind of pick and choose whether you know an area you want to go to or you know an activity that you want to do. You can kind of drill into the sight from either direction," said Charles Leonard of Blue Ridge Outdoors magazine.
One you've picked a destination or activity like hiking, biking, fishing or horseback riding, one click gets you all the information you need to do.
The site also features video tours and podcasts of some of the parks. State officials say they hope a high-tech approach makes unplugging this summer a little more user-friendly.
State officials said they also hope the website draws tourism from around the country and brings in more tourism revenue.
