Virginia Gets $324.6M in Stimulus Funds for Education

June 2, 2010

Virginia is getting another $324.6 million in stimulus funds for public education.

The award announced Wednesday by U.S. Senators Jim Webb and Mark Warner brings Virginia's total stimulus funding for public education to more than $2 billion.

Warner says public education funding cuts in Virginia would have been deeper without the federal dollars.

Webb says the additional funding will help the state retain quality teachers and improve students' academic results.
