DC Police: 4-year-old Boy Chasing Ball Hit by Car, Killed

June 4, 2010

D.C. police say a 4-year-old boy was hit by a car and killed after he chased a ball into the street.

Police say the boy darted out between cars in the 1600 block of Montello Avenue northeast on Thursday evening before anyone could stop him.

Investigators say the driver of the car was not speeding and stopped immediately to help. The boy was taken to a hospital before being pronounced dead.
