State economic-development officials are planning to set up outposts in China, England and India to lure international business to Virginia.
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership hopes to add overseas trade offices in Shanghai, London and Mumbai. It has existing offices in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Mexico City and Brussels.
Of the projects that the agency has worked on in the past six years, nearly half of the $4.9 million capital investment in Virginia came from an international audience, according to Paul Grossman, director of international trade and investment.
