The Navy is searching Virginia waters for four missing underwater vehicles.
The unmanned vehicles were being used for explosive ordnance disposal training Sunday at the southern end of the Chesapeake Bay. Communication was lost with four of the 13 vehicles and a search and recovery operation continued Monday.
The Coast Guard and local officials have joined the Navy search in an area between the Hampton Roads Bridge Channel and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel.
The underwater vehicles were being used to conduct search and mapping missions with about 2,500 personnel from Canadian and U.S. military and civilian agencies.
The Navy said the missing vehicles do not pose a hazard.
