No Remains Found During Va. Parkway Search

June 8, 2010

Family members of presumed victims of a serial killer on the Colonial Parkway say they plan to conduct more searches of the roadway for remains after a weekend search was unsuccessful.

Cadaver dogs and volunteers searched Saturday for the remains of Cassandra Hailey and Richard Call, one of four young couples slain on or near the parkway in the 1980s. The car the couple had been driving was found on an overlook in 1988.

Dogs responded to a site about two miles from that overlook, but an excavation Sunday turned up nothing.

Bill Thomas, the brother of another victim, said searches will continue.
