Officers Conduct Illegal Tobacco Crackdown on Va. Businesses

Law enforcement officials are cracking down on several Hampton businesses suspected of selling tobacco illegally.

Local and state police, along with federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers served warrants Wednesday at seven Hampton businesses suspected of illegal tobacco sales.

Hampton police spokeswoman Paula Scheck says the businesses are accused of buying and selling untaxed and counterfeit cigarette products.
