Jim McKelvey, one of the seven candidates vying for the Republican nomination to face U.S. Rep. Tom Perriello in November's election, has announced he's forming a political action committee.
In an e-mail, McKelvey said the PAC, which will be the Take Our Country Back PAC, will seek out, support, educate, train and help to elect conservative candidates on the local and state level not only in the 5th District, but throughout Virginia.
"Our PAC will be seeking to find candidates who have never run for public office before, but who share our conservative values and desire to serve our country in its time of need," the e-mail said.
McKelvey was a candidate in the 5th District Republican primary, in which he was the runner-up. State Sen. Robert Hurt won the nomination.
