Police Investigating Office Building Break-ins

June 16, 2010

Police are investigating the possibility that fake ID badges are behind a string of recent unsolved office burglaries in Arlington.

Authorities say they believe the suspects are posing as office workers by donning illegitimate identification.

Police say suspects may have lingered near the entrances of the secured buildings - including some buildings that included government offices - and gained access by following other employees.

Wallets, cash and other personal possessions have been reported missing.

The U.S. Secret Service is also involved in the investigation. A spokesman for that agency declined to comment on the cases.
