Richmond Man Falls From Roof During Alleged Stunt

June 17, 2010

Police say a 21-year-old man in Richmond was gravely wounded in a fall from the roof of a three-story apartment building in what authorities call an alcohol-fueled stunt.

Richmond police Capt. David L. Martin says the victim was taken to VCU Medical Center Wednesday morning with life-threatening internal and head injuries.

Police were called to an alley in Richmond's Fan District early Wednesday and found the victim on the ground, bleeding from his head and other areas.

Martin says the man and two friends were on the roof of the building when the victim tried to jump to the roof of an adjacent building and plunged to the alley below.
