Six more people face charges in an investigation of a gang that authorities say controlled neighborhoods in Newport News through violence and intimidation.
Federal, state and local state authorities announced the charges Friday.
A federal grand jury indicted the suspects Wednesday on a total 29 charges that include murder, attempted murder, robbery, assault, arson, drug distribution and weapons crimes.
U.S. Attorney Neil MacBride says the charges stem from the second phase of an ongoing investigation of a gang called the Dump Squad.
Eleven Dump Squad members indicted in March 2009 have pleaded guilty.
FBI special agent in charge Alex Turner says the investigation will continue until the gang is dismantled.
