Southwest Va. Hospital Nears Completion

July 5, 2010

A HealthSouth official says the Rehabilitation Hospital of Southwest Virginia is almost done.

HealthSouth marketing director Robert Ley says a ribbon cutting for the $5 million, 25-bed hospital is scheduled for July 13. It's going to be operated by HealthSouth and Wellmont Health System.

Ley says there's a need for another rehab hospital. There's already a 50-bed hospital in Kingsport, Tenn.

The new hospital is expected to employ about 100 people and provide therapy for patients with traumatic injuries, strokes and other health problems.
