Richmond school officials say appropriate action has been taken against a substitute driver who left a 5-year-old boy on a school bus for more than an hour.
Richmond school system spokeswoman Felicia Cosby and transportation director Vincent Ashley wouldn't provide details. Cosby says school officials can't discuss a personnel issue.
Ashley says the boy was riding a school bus Tuesday morning to Summer Hill Elementary School for a summer educational program. He was still on the bus when it returned to the school bus depot. Another driver walking through the depot heard a faint cry and found the boy.
Ashley says the boy wasn't harmed. He wasn't identified because of his age.
