Public's Help Sought in 1997 Va. Cold Case

July 12, 2010

Henry County sheriff's investigators are asking the public for help in solving a 1997 murder.

Henry County Sheriff's Sgt. Curtis Spence says investigators want to give the family of 67-year-old Governor Taylor Craig closure and bring Craig's killer to justice. Police reports at the time said Craig died from two gunshot wounds to the head. He was found dead on his bedroom floor on May 22, 1997.

Craig's daughter, Katherine Craig-Alford, says he shared the Martinsville home with his brother, John Peter Craig. John Craig told police two tall, slim boys ran into the house, knocked him out and killed his brother.
