Authorities are rescuing an injured construction worker along the 14th Street bridge.
D.C.fire and EMS department spokesman Pete Piringer says the worker has minor injuries but became trapped in a walkway underneath the southbound lanes of the bridge Tuesday morning.
Piringer says crews are working to hoist him down to a fire boat
in the Potomac River.
Transportation officials say motorists can expect delays over the bridge, which connects northern Virginia and Washington.
