TME Enterprises Inc., of Chesapeake, will be responsible for maintenance activities on Interstate 64 through central Virginia under the terms of a contract awarded by the Commonwealth Transportation Board.
The portion of I-64 covered by the contract extends from milepost 174.23 in Goochland County to milepost 86.88 in Augusta County. The five-year, $16,363,145 contract takes effect Aug. 15.
Under the turnkey asset maintenance services (TAMS) contract TME Enterprises will be responsible for routine maintenance activities such as pothole patching, mowing and brush cutting, as well as traffic control, emergency incident response and addressing weather events including snow and ice removal.
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will manage the contract through its Culpeper District office, which will provide contract monitors to oversee the contractor’s operations.
