Thousands Treated at Va. Mobile Free Clinic

July 26, 2010

Several thousand people received free medial, dental or vision treatments during a three-day health care clinic in southwest Virginia.

Volunteers with the 11th annual Remote Medical Care Clinic treated patients from Friday through Sunday at the Wise County Fairgrounds. The group says doctors provided at least 4,000 medical treatments alone.

Dr. Mo Nadkami with the University of Virginia has been a volunteer at the clinic for 10 years. He says the clinic is seeing an increase in the number of people who have lost health insurance because of the economy.
