Two Arrested for Slaying of Va. Job Applicant

July 27, 2010

Two people are under arrest for the fatal shooting of a Virginia man who was visiting the San Francisco Bay area for a job interview.

Oakland police say 24-year-old George Huggins was arrested Monday and 33-year-old Althea Housley was arrested Saturday. Both suspects are from Oakland.

Police say 45-year-old Jing Hong Kang of Fairfax, Virginia was shot July 18 in Oakland shortly after leaving a dentist's office.

Kang, who was in town to interview at Google Inc., was entering directions into a rental car's GPS when two people approached demanding money.

The couple was arrested on suspicion of homicide, robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. They are also suspects in a robbery-shooting that happened in June.
