A man accused of helping his brother plan a jail escape that led to two slayings is going on trial.
Michael Morva's trial was scheduled to begin Monday in Rockingham County Circuit Court in Harrisonburg. He is charged with conspiring to help his brother, William Morva, escape on Aug. 20, 2006.
William Morva escaped from custody at a hospital in Montgomery County where he had been taken for treatment. He is on death row for capital murder convictions in the deaths of a sheriff's deputy and a hospital security guard.
The slayings occurred near Virginia Tech, prompting a manhunt that shut down the university.
Michael Morva's trial was moved from Montgomery County to Rockingham County.
