Adult Store Owner in Va. Elated by County Reversal

July 27, 2013

DANVILLE, Va. (AP) - A Pittsylvania County adult store that was threatened with closure is staying open.

A county zoning official has written an attorney for the Mount Hermon store, saying he is rescinding his decision to close the establishment. The now-rescinded order was based on an alleged zoning violation.

Trish Post is the owner of Shhh ... Intimacy on a New Level. She said she is "beyond thrilled" by the reversal announced this week.

Post called it a victory for her customers and the First Amendment. Her store sells sex toys, bondage gear and lingerie.

The Danville Register & Bee said county officials did not explain the reversal.

A hearing was scheduled on Sept. 10 on Post's appeal of the order to close, which was issued in May.
