Capital One is planning to add more than 1,000 jobs in Virginia by 2011.
Gov. Bob McDonnell said Tuesday that the financial company plans to open a new call center and operations center in Henrico County next year. The company recently purchased two new commercial office buildings for the expansion. About 700 of the jobs will be in the Richmond suburb.
The governor's office says the new positions will support Capital One's credit card, banking and financial services business. The jobs will be in operations, customer service, marketing, information technology and banking.
McDonnell approved a $300,000 grant from the Governor's Opportunity Fund for the project.
McLean-based Capital One employs about 9,400 people in Virginia.
