Court Rejects University's Health Care Lawsuit

July 11, 2013

Liberty University's lawsuit over President Obama's health care reform law will not go forward.

On Thursday, the 4th US Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously agreed with a lower court's ruling dismissing Liberty's lawsuit.

Liberty University claimed the law violates the school's religious rights by requiring it to provide coverage for abortion-inducing drugs.

The university also claimed the requirement the individuals buy health insurance or pay a penalty is unconstitutional.
