Culpeper Police Seek to Identify Theft Suspects

Sept. 4, 2013

Culpeper police are asking the public’s help to identify two men suspected of attempting to steal more than $1,000 in merchandise from Wal-Mart on August 30.

Police say the two men entered the Culpeper Wal-Mart about 10:50 PM last Friday. The pair spent time putting items from the sporting goods department in a shopping cart. They also put dozens of DVDs in the cart before leaving the store.

After pushing the cart passed the checkout counters, the men were confronted by store loss prevention personnel in the parking lot.

The two men then fled on foot toward Burger King leaving the full shopping cart behind.

One of the men wore a dark coat and white T-shirt. The second man was wearing a mixed martial arts shirt.

Anyone with information about the identity of these two men may contact Detective Sgt. Jeff Dodson at 540-829-5526 or by anonymously calling Crime Solvers at 540-727-0300.
