A former Henrico County deputy convicted of receiving child pornography will spend more than seven years in prison.
Fifty-three-year-old John Harlan Mullins was sentenced Friday in federal court in Richmond to seven years and 11 months.
Mullins pleaded guilty in March.
Court documents show Mullins accessed dozens of images from a child porn website. Federal agents seized several computers at his home.
He was a sheriff's deput in Henrico from February 1989 until his retirement in June 2011.
U.S. Attorney Neil H. MacBride and Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli announced Mullins' sentencing in a news release.
