Giles County Schools Closed Due to Online Posting

Most public school students in Virginia returned to classes on Wednesday. But Giles County students stayed home, because on an online threat.

An online article has police and school officials worried about safety. The web posting was titled "the Next School Massacre Target?" and it pointed to a school in Narrows as a possibility.

Administrators canceled classes to be cautious, in light of the attack at Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut last month.

"If I was a parent and I did not know about this, I would be upset," said Giles County Sheriff Morgan Millirons, speaking about the online threat.

Police issued a reverse 911 call to parents telling them school was closed in light of the article.
