Goochland Officials Seek Help to Oust Treasurer Accused of Embezzlement

February 10, 2011

Goochland County officials are asking the state for help in ousting Treasurer Brenda S. Grubb following her arrest on an embezzlement charge.

Grubb was charged last week with one count of embezzlement. She remains free on bond.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that the Goochland County Board of Supervisors sent a letter Wednesday to Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli's office requesting help in removing or suspending Grubb from office.

The newspaper reports that Cuccinelli obliged, urging Grubb to resign.

Board members also voted Wednesday to request help from the governor.
